Elizabeth C T Carne 1811 - 1873 was a member of the Hypatia Society and a prominent Victorian woman who studied earth sciences. She was the daughter of Joseph Carne 1782 - 1858

Mary Carne (1811 - 1887) m. Archibald Campbell Colquhorn Ross -Physician to the Island of Madeira, which was a cholera colony and he was an expert in cholera which was prevalent at that time
