RMS Mauretania (Cunard), built by Swan Hunter Ltd., in Newcastle-on-Tyne, weighting 31,950 tons. The Mauretania served on the North Atlantic run from 1907 to 1935 and is probably the most famous and best-remembered of all the Atlantic record-breakers. She held the Blue Riband unchallenged for 22 years.
