Description
The Penzance Post Office located at the time in the basement of Market House. It moved to this location from 50 Chapel Street where the postmistress was Miss Elizabeth Swain until 1864 when Mr J G Uren became postmaster at the new location in 1864. It remained here until 1883 when it moved to new premises at the top of Jennings Street. Closed in 2016 and moved to Smiths lower down in Market Jew Street.
