Description

Horse-drawn 'whim' or winding drum at Geevor tin mine at Pendeen, near St Just. These were commonly used in Cornwall's mines until the early 20th century when they were replaced by steam engines. Traces of the circular cobbled or flagged tracks can still be seen at a few old disused mine sites.
