Five children standing in a small dinghy at Hayle River.
They are identified as Jean Richards, Jean Mathews (Pearson), Fred and Jim Treglowan and Cousin Millicent. From a collection of photographs of the Richards family, from Penzance, who decamped to Hayle Towans for the summer holidays, along with many other families between the World Wars. They stayed in a converted single-decker bus and took part in all the summer events there. The children had found the boat and "pulled it out of the river."
