A view taken from the Promenade, looking west towards the Pavilion and Newlyn, showing some pedestrians walking along the Prom and period automobiles parked on the road. On the reverse side a Queen Elizabeth II, red 2 1/2D stamp, postmarked 5 AUG 1954 from Penzance. Message to Mrs L Knight, 173 Manor Farm Road, Bitterne Park, Southampton, saying "Dear Mother, Weather not to bad, Wish you were here? xxx Cyril"
