Title

The foreground is the site of the later Newlyn fish market, 1880-1885.

Description

The view is looking forward along the route of the later harbour road (built 1908). The tall building to the right is still there and the building central left is the Norway Ice Store (aka the Old Ice Store) and the entrance to the Fradgan right.
It is about half tide and Newlyn Town can be seen on the hillside behind. Mount's Bay sailing luggers in view, some afloat and some aground in the foreground.
*A reference point would be the present Star Inn to the immediate right just out of the picture.
