A gun recovered from the Warship Anson which wrecked on Looe Bar, Porthleven by Captain Anderson on or around April 15th 1903

The cannon bears a crest and the title Le Comte de Vermandois. There was a French nobleman of this name, son of King Louis XIV, who was given the title Admiral of France, who died in 1683.
