Tall granite building near the old bridge. Replaced in 1906 after fire. Was Carters house and bakery. Restored and now houses Warrens Bakery and Lenterns butchers shop. Small buildings extreme left now the Newlyn chemist shop.

Later view of JDC 271. Building near the old bridge now rebuilt with shops below. Flooded by very high tides coming from the slipway on the right. Newlyn Bridge bus stop at the railings in foreground.

Cottages behind are Florence Place. Over the bridge to the right leads to Tolcarne. Image is much the same now.

About 200yds from the village above St Peter's Church.

Before the harbour road was built in 1908. You can see the cart tracks heading along to Newlyn Slip which was the main thoroughfare, only accessible when the tide was out. Mounts Bay lugger aground on the beach. Fishing nets laid out to dry.

This is next to the Passmore Edwards Art Gallery (built in 1895 in memory of John Opie, artist)
