Hellesveor Pool, St Ives. On the western outskirts of the town, at the junction of the Nancledra and Zennor Roads, this was a well-known Good Friday boat-sailing venue.
Originally used to decoy wildfowl, Porthgwarra Fowling Pool on the clifftop near Tol Pedn (more generally known as Gwennap Head) Coastguard Station, was cleaned out and used as a model yacht pool in the 1960s. Here, Good Friday was a prominent date.
