The Sand man used to come over from Hayle to Little Water near Townshend ,about 4 miles. He and his donkeys carried sand which he sold by the bucket for sprinkling on kitchen floors.
Sam Rundle was Vicar of Godolphin and godfather to Jack & dolly Chown. Dolly said"He always wore a frock coat & top hat which he considered to be 'proper' dress and continued to do so long after they went out of fashion"
