William Augustus Nicholson, Caldwell's 1st cousin once removed, was the second son of the Rev. Octavius Nicholson and Emily Hill. He was born in Birkenhead in 1859 and became a bank clerk in Norwich.
He married Julia Fiere on 22 August 1897 and had two children.
He died in Norwich in 1935 age 76.
