General Horace Browne
Description
Horace Albert Browne was Caldwell's maternal Uncle.
He was born on 27th March 1831 in Market Rasen, Lincolnshire, being the son of Henry Albert Browne and Frances Margaret (nee Nicholson).
He entered the British Army in India and obtained his first commission on 13th June 1852.
He married Louisa Fanny Algeo Moresby on 25th April 1857, in Calcutta, Bengal, India.
Horace was Commissioner of Pegu, Burma from 1878 to 1880.
His wife died on 24th July 1880.
He married Marie Renault in 1884, and when he died on 25th Jan 1914 they were living in Nice, France.
