Cornelius Jabez Hughes,(1818-1884) , photographer, daguerreotypist and writer.
He was born in London and spent his early years as a tailor.
Later he became interested in the new art of photography, and worked in London and Glasgow.
He later moved to the Ilse of White where he built the Regina House Studio at Ryde. This was close to Queen Victoria's Osborne House. The British Royalty became frequent patrons.
