Area behind New Road, used to be called Parc Saundry) Left leads up to the Carn. Looking across to Treneglos Terrace and Charles Street. Lamp posts seen top right corner are on the New Road leading into Wherrytown.

Start of the Coombe above the later road bridge. River not contained yet. The visiting fairground and showmen would pitch on this open space. Piles of fish can be seen. St Peters Church (built 1866) is 150yds to the right of the picture.
