Samuel Thomas Turner OBE worked for Sir John Wolfe Barry. Samuel was chief engineer building Tower Bridge London, Blackfriars Bridge, Peoples Palace Glasgow.

Alfred was also a grocer, he took over from his father's business in London. He was married to Jane and they called their house in Surrey. Goldsithney.
