John Hett 1803-1878 was the son of William Hett and Catherine Crowder.
He was a solicitor and married Louisa Nicholson, Caldwell's Great Aunt, on 17th September 1833 at Wrawby, Lincolnshire. They had 11 children. He died in 1878, aged 65.

John, a fisherman, looks like he is leaning on an oar or spar of some kind, alongside sea boots drying. In the 1871 census he lived with his wife and 2 children in Newlyn. He died at the age of 69 years in 1904 in Paul, Cornwall.
