Title
Oddfellows meeting at Redruth
Description
The following information was kindly supplied by Peter Everest, Curator and Librarian of the Henry Mitchel Memorial Museum, Hayle, in October 2024.
" This is an Oddfellows meeting of the Riviera Lodge of Past Grand at Redruth. The Lodge still meets there today.
I contacted Michael Chappell and Peter English (A very knowledgeable Oddfellow Historian) who are members at Redruth and they provided the following information;
In the picture, there are many different collars on display, the sashes going from side to side are officers in the Provincial Grand Lodge, others are District Lodge & Lodge.
The silver regalia around the balcony used to belong to one of the Penzance Lodges and can now be seen on display in Manchester in the reception of the Head Office, its also used on the Annual Summoned Meeting for the church parade.
The chap in the second row from the front, seventh from the right is wearing a Secretary's Collar."
