The Bassett Memorial, built at the summit of Carn Brea Hill, between Camborne and Redruth, in memory of the Bassett families who owned and controlled vast mineral-recovery areas in Cornwall in the 19th century. From this vantage point, the remains of some 30-40 mines can still be identified. The Bassett family also built and occupied Tehidy House.
