Information from donor reads "John Charles Rogers (1863-1928) grew up in a family of butchers, living in the St Clare area of Penzance. He dealt in cattle, bred poultry and, with his wife, Annie, opened a provisions shop at 43 Causeway Head, Penzance. This shop premises still bears the tiled name. A second shop was opened at 37 The Terrace, Market Jew Street soon after. William James (Jim) Rogers, his second son took over the MJS business after WW1, and his grandson John Charles Rogers followed his father into the business after WW2 service. The business closed in 1970"
