Two photographs of Penzance. The first is a view of the harbour and town from the area known as Lescudjack. St. Mary's Church can be seen beyond the harbour.
The second photograph is a view of Market Jew Street looking towards the Market House. The statue of Humphry Davy (erected in 1872) stands in front of the Market House, On the terrace to the right is Oppenheim's Great Furnishing Mart. This store is listed in the 1878 Kelly's Directory and was owned by Israel Oppenheim. (Another store owned by him is shown in the 1873 Post Office Directory as being in Helston). Other businesses shown are Joseph. Pawnbroker, Thomas and Perrow.
