Title
Elderly Woman with three young children
Description
Elderly Woman with three young children
Creator
Truscott brothers Walter and Charles.
Charles trained in London and became a member of the Oxford and Cambridge Photographic Association. In 1855 he returned to Cornwall and considered a summertime branch studio on the esplanade in Penzance. Sadly in 1863 a mighty storm in Mounts Bay totally destroyed the studio by the action of the huge waves.
He then in 1863 entered into partnership with his brother Walter advertising Landscape and Architectural Images working from the Polytechnic Portrait rooms. After 1870 the business was not a success as their children had joined the family business and it eventually failed.
The two brothers eventually separated and restarted business on their own.
