Description
An account of the resource
DUPLICATE OF COMM 6.005
View from Porthcurno of Marconi Signal Station at Poldhu Transmitter on the Lizard Peninsula, from where Eastern Telegraph Co conducted industrial espionage.
General view of Poldhu Wireless Station. These 300-foot timber masts dominated the Lizard Peninsula for half a century and could be seen from Land's End to the Camborne-Redruth area. They were dismantled in the late 1930s as a security measure and because their use had been superseded by more modern technology.
