Quickly done by impaling fish on a spike and ripping off its skin.

Written on the reverse of the photograph in two hands: "Newlyn fishermen preparing bait" and "C. 1938 Skinning dogfish 'Half a Crown' or 'Envelopes' Williams in Trilby (hat)".
