One must be William and the other John, as they were closer in age than other brothers. William Augustus Nicholson, Caldwell's 1st cousin once removed, was the second son of the Rev. Octavius Nicholson and Emily Hill. He was born in Birkenhead in 1859 and became a bank clerk in Norwich. He married Julia Fiere on 22 August 1897 and had two children.
