(For details of his wife Alice see CHA 125) He studied medicine and became a General Practitioner in Liverpool. In 1867 he married his first cousin Alice Dominica Browne. Like his father, he had artistic talents, particularly in watercolours. He specialised in Ophthalmology, and became a pioneer in the field of cataract surgery. Edgar and Alice had six children.
