Moving fountain outside the Public Buildings, Penzance
Description
The granite fountain is being dismantled ready to be moved from outside the Public Buildings (commonly called St John's Hall) in Penzance to St Anthony Gardens, Penzance. The fountain is seen here in in two pieces.
Railings made by Holmans and taken for salvage in WW2. The gas lamp and granite fountain are both visible in the forecourt of the Public Buildings. A man rides a horse along Alverton Street.
